Kevin Seeber

Engineering Technician

I'm a technician by training, and more than 20 years as my career. If I had the time, money, and technical degree, I'd want to build dragons that move, look, and feel like biological creatures that fly under their own wing power, yet are piloted by a human in a VR rig, and could be used to film a live-action movie or TV series based on Anne McCaffery's Dragonriders of Pern novels. Aside from that, I have a fascination with EVs, the way a lot of guys my age have a fascination with vintage muscle cars of the 1960s and 1970s.

Questions & Answers

How do you make people laugh?

Unexpected puns and other wordplay, primarily.

If you were a tool or piece of equipment, what would you be and why?

I'd be a network analyzer - taking in a variety of disparate signals, to synthesize information into a logical path forward.

What's your favorite productivity hack or time-saving trick?

Develop an understanding of how the details fit into the bigger picture, so you can anticipate a better flow through the build/troubleshooting process. Work instructions are usually focused on finishing a subassembly before moving to the next, but sometimes completing similar tasks on multiple subassemblies can provide a greater economy of motion. It also helps with laying out the work in a manner that will save time, even if it might put a few steps from the work instructions out of order.
