Shop Floor Lead

I entered the industry in 2014 after completing the Precision Machining course at Everett Community College. Over the past 12 years, I've gained extensive setup and production experience across 3, 4, and 5 axis mills, as well as multi-spindle turret and Swiss style lathes.

My background spans a wide range of high demand sectors, including aerospace, defense, automotive, and commercial fishing, just to name a few. Beyond just keeping the spindles turning, my focus has always been on optimizing production flow, commissioning new equipment and mentoring the next generation of machinists. Outside the shop, you can usually find me out on the water chasing cutthroat and Kokanee trout or spending time with family out camping in eastern Washington.

Questions & Answers

How do you make people laugh?

I try to show happiness first with a smile and with a cheerful voice. A funny joke never hurts. I generally try to make light of the situation if possible while still trying to convey the importance of the situation.

If you were a tool or piece of equipment, what would you be and why?

If I were a tool it would have to be an adjustable crescent wrench because I am able to do a lot of different things with the knowledge that I have. As a Shop Floor Lead, you never know exactly what size problem is going to pop up on any given day. You have to be able to quickly adjust to fit the situation, get a firm grip on the issue and keep production moving forward.

What's your favorite productivity hack or time-saving trick?

My favorite productivity hack or time saving trick would be to use the people around me first. I try to surround myself with people who are the Subject matter expert in whatever issues we are facing.
