Engineering Technician

As an Engineering Technician II, I assemble and modify actuators, gearboxes, and mechanical assemblies. I design and create fixtures to aid in assembly and inspection. I work directly with mechanical engineers for design recommendations and quick paced solutions. My background is Mechanical Engineering with a Masters in Robotics from Oregon State. My work with Sigma Design has allowed me to get hands on with mechanical assemblies and all their design intricacies. I hope to grow and develop as an Engineer through 3D modeling mechanical perfection with integration of powerful actuators.

How do you make people laugh?

Always love to extend a situation to its logical extreme, finding joy in relative mundane day to day problems.

If you were a tool or piece of equipment, what would you be and why?

I would choose to be a CNC machine. While that task requires lots of prep and complexity to utilize it, managed well can create technical precise parts given the imagination of the designer. Being able to take a 3D model to production level quality is a dream of any modeler.

What's your favorite productivity hack or time-saving trick?

While reminders are nice, alarms help make sure you don't miss crucial times to keep your sleep and body in check. One can easily always lose themselves in a project and needed to be pulled back to reality.
