Position Details:
The Sourcing Specialist will play a critical role in Sigma Design’s operations department by ensuring the best possible selection of vendors for Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) items.

Position Details:
- The hiring range for this role is typically between $32.50 and $40.00, with the full range extending to $47.50, based on experience, internal equity, and career progression
- This position will be In-Office
The Sourcing Specialist will play a critical role in Sigma Design’s operations department by ensuring the best possible selection of vendors for Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) items.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
- Source, negotiate, and establish relationships with suppliers to secure the timely delivery of high-quality materials and components.
- Support and improve the vendor selection process in the best interest of Sigma Design.
- Identify areas to increase the Sigma Design purchasing power.
- Support other departments by completing accurate and timely requests for quotes.
- Analyzing and communicating applicable market trends to management and other stakeholders.
- As needed, assist with issuing purchase orders and agreements that accurately reflect price, schedule, terms & conditions negotiated with suppliers and/or Sigma Design. .
- Ability to navigate and adapt to dynamic environments, including learning and applying processes unique to Sigma Design that support operational excellence.
- Work to identify cost-saving opportunities through negotiation, supplier selection, and process improvements.
- Liaison with upstream and downstream departments, specifically Business Development and Engineering.
- Coordinate with other departments to properly document and communicate product and process change requests.
- Assist department managers in developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other administrative & purchasing duties for supply chain department as needed.
- Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences.

Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience working with engineering teams or sourcing technical/engineered components preferred.
- NetSuite experience preferred.
- APIC’s Certifications preferred.
- Understanding of manufacturing Bills of Materials, part numbers, and revision levels.
- Self-motivated individual able to effectively balance a large workload with constantly shifting priorities.
- Ability to speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.
- Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Demonstrate responsiveness, tact, diplomacy, good judgment, and confidentiality in communications with all levels of personnel, clients, and outside vendors.
- Strong written and verbal English language communication skills
- Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
