Sigma Design has collaborated with a global technology company seeking an experienced Senior Zone Programmer to join their team working remotely. This company blends the digital and physical worlds to create smarter, safer, more efficient environments. Their building automation programmers develop advanced control systems and programming standards that keep modern facilities running reliably and sustainably.

What Is Offered:

Primary Function:
The Senior Zone Programmer delivers a full programming package to the project team, including the sequence of operations, virtual points, pre-tested code, and onsite functional testing for each assigned project. Building automation aims to enhance occupant comfort, run systems more efficiently, lower energy use and operating costs, and extend the overall life of building utilities.

Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
  • Write programs and virtual points for approved submittals
  • Provide pre-sale assistance for labor estimating
  • Create functional testing documents and flowcharts
  • Set up virtual and physical testing system to test programs prior to release
  • Create functional testing check-out sheets to be included in the Specialist’s check-out book
  • Assist Graphics Designer with incorporating dynamic point information into graphics
  • Review design content to provide Specialists with the information needed to optimize start-up and commissioning
  • Prepare Requests for Information (RFIs) to identify specification discrepancies and request clarification, and determine the cost impact of requested changes
  • May provide onsite assistance with functional testing, and expert advice, training, and technical assistance to support staff and entry-level employees.
  • Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences.

Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED
  • 4+ years of experience programming HVAC systems and developing HVAC controls strategies
  • Electro-mechanical experience (either in a previous role or through education) and user PC/software skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read and understand design and construction documents
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree
Compliance:
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
  • Background - Pass a post-offer background verification.

Work Environment
Office: Standard office environment with normal office related conditions. Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients, or suppliers.
