Sigma Design has collaborated with a heavy industrial fabricator seeking an experienced Sr. Project Manager to join their facility in Vancouver, WA. This company is an established heavy industrial fabrication provider serving infrastructure, energy, and marine sectors across the west coast.
What Is Offered:

- $110,000 – $135,000 Depending on Experience

Primary Function:
Oversee and manage project scheduling and budgeting. Review contracts, proposals, and drawings to assess timelines, financial limits, staffing needs, and procedures. Ensure optimal resource allocation through each phase to meet objectives. Facilitate clear communication with clients, subcontractors, and cross-functional teams, fostering alignment and swiftly resolving project issues. Possess a builder’s mentality to facilitate production.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
- Positively represent the employer to clients and act as a liaison between the clients and employer departments.
- Determine project schedule and communicate with shop and other departments.
- Manage and communicate complex budgets, change orders, and adjustments to project scope.
- Drive the processes needed for successful project completion in an organized and consistent manner.
- Thoroughly review drawings to ensure accuracy and adherence to project specs before production commences.
- Create project work-back schedules, identifying milestones and timelines.
- Coordinate purchasing of material to maintain established schedule.
- Manage material tickets, nesting lists, and packing lists for submittal to shop.
- Organize and oversee the delivery schedule and transportation logistics, ensuring timely and efficient movements.
- Coordinate delivery schedule and transportation.
- Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences.
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
- Bachelor's Degree or 5 years or more of direct experience required.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the heavy industrial steel fabrication industry.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and work with diverse groups of people to achieve goals.
- Experience with CAD software and ERP/MRP systems
- Basic knowledge of steel fabrication standards required (AISC, ASME, API, AWS, etc.) as well as related ASTM standards.
- Experience managing ASME-certified projects is preferred.
- Capable of interpreting fabrication drawings and understanding basic fabrication terminology.
Work Environment
Shop: Standard machine shop environment with various types of machinery. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Office: Standard office environment with normal office related conditions. Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients, or suppliers.
