SIGMADESIGN Announces Move to New Headquarters Facility

Sigma Design, Inc. will relocate to a new world headquarters in Clark County, WA. The acquisition of an existing 56,000 sq. ft. facility on 10 acres allows the company to consolidate from three downtown Vancouver buildings into one, campus-like facility, as well as enable future growth. The building and property are the former home to Heraeus Shin-Etsu America, which manufactured silicon crucibles for the wafer and chip industries. The campus-like facility is located about 10 miles east of Sigma Design’s current, downtown Vancouver headquarters.

SIGMADESIGN experienced tremendous growth in recent years and a larger facility remodeled for clients’ needs will advance the company’s Product Design and Engineering services. It provides space for most of Sigma Design’s 170+ employees to collaborate under one roof.

The projected move-in date is May 2017 when the remodel is complete. Bill Huseby, President of Sigma Design comments that, “The decision to acquire a new building has been in the works for over two years. We have outgrown the headquarters in downtown Vancouver where the firm currently works from 3 different buildings that total approximately 22,000 sq. ft.”

SIGMADESIGN presently assists clients with product development utilizing the in-house expertise of Industrial Designers, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Firmware Engineers and Software Engineers, as well as Machine Shop, Lab, Test and Assembly professionals. Investment in a bigger facility provides more client confidentiality, efficiency and the ability to expand capabilities. The remodel will create a custom environment to contain work and meeting spaces for all in-house professional disciplines and planned growth.

This decision benefits both the firm and client base. Huseby, who has been with the company since 1997, notes, “This is a huge investment that we are undertaking to better serve our clients.” It is a strategic choice to expand into new areas of work, provide more jobs and offer a campus atmosphere with more amenities for clients and employees. Huseby states, “I am excited about the move and generating more jobs in Clark County. We’ll create a campus culture that is true to the firm’s core values and supports the needs of our clients.”
