I am a scientist with 40 years experience in detector development, instrument making, and material science for the fields of nuclear/high-energy physics, gravitational wave detection, and astrophysics. I like mentoring: I assisted more than 100, perhaps 200 young scientists and engineers that published with me, and I presently advise 5 or 6 grad students. People often seek me out when they are trying to solve a problem. I can usually find a solution for them.
